The majestic Castello di Serralunga d’Alba, which towers high above the Piedmontese community of the same name, always attracts the attention of visitors. The imposing silhouette of this historic landmark has an irresistible draw and on sunny days many people flock here.

“DIVINO” TRANSLATES AS “DIVINE”.

Towards the end of the day, when the castello closes, things become quiet in Serralunga d’Alba. If you’re hungry, now’s the time to head to Isabelle and Daniela from ‘È… DiVino’. The two women run this wine bar on Piazza Maria Capellona, serving up excellent antipasti from Piedmont and regional wines. It’s a relaxed and uncomplicated wine bar that is particularly popular with cyclists and bikers, but also with wine tourists and locals.

Here, guests sit at tables under umbrellas in an idyllic courtyard with a small stage, and on cool days you can make yourself comfortable in front of the shelves stocked with Barolo and other wines from Piedmont.

The history of ‘È… DiVino’ goes back to 2001 when Daniela’s father first opened the wine bar. However, his enthusiasm for it was short-lived and new tenants came and went until 2018, when his daughter Daniela and her partner Isabelle took the helm. They gave it a new name and still manage it today.

They expanded their small team to include Isabelle’s mother Paola and two other committed colleagues who support them in the kitchen and out on the floor.

CLASSICS FROM PIEDMONT

They’ve got popular classics on the menu such as Piedmontese mini tartar (carne cruda) or focaccia pinsa with Italian ham. Of course there is also the Tomino, a cheese specialty that is wrapped in paper and baked, then refined with a generous dollop of delicious onion jam. I have to admit that it was this one in particular which kept us coming back to ‘È… DiVino’ again and again.
Themed menus, barbecues and the seasonal diversity of the Langhe bring a lot of variety to the menu. On holidays the champagne flows and every now and then Daniela and Isabelle treat their loyal guests to oysters.

“We are lucky to have special people from all over the world visiting us.” says Isabelle. And it sums up the spirit of this restaurant, one which is popular with both visiting guests and locals.

It’s worth reserving a table!

It’s… DiVino
