Gerhard Wolf and the Wild Boar.
For many years, designer Gerhard Wolf, whose studio can be found in Hard on Lake Constance under the name ABART, has been fascinated with wild boar.
He once dedicated a whole exhibition in Vienna to them. One of them even wound up on his stomach as a tattoo.
When asked about his passion, he believes, “Wild boar are very intelligent and friendly. They have a great sense of smell and are very adaptable.” We could add: The animals are a wild counterpart to the domesticated pig and have a certain aura of archaic to them.
No wonder that we were enchanted by this aura as well. We approached Gerald Wolf and asked him to design a logo with his wild boar as a symbol for our emblem.
As an Artist in Residence he realized this idea elegantly and without any fuss.
